Zona Sztuki Aktualnej

Szczecin, Szczecin, Poland

ZONA SZTUKI AKTUALNEJ is an art gallery owned by the Academy of Art in Szczecin, whose curator is Prof. Kamil Kuskowski.
ZONA is an experimental exhibition space, where innovative activities in the fields of visual culture and symbolic production are pursued and developed. If modern art can be defined as an encounter with something new, unknown and unexpected, then ZONA is a place which enables it all.
Zona Sztuki Aktualnej operates as an exhibition space with vernissages and finissages, its invited guests, open lectures, meet-the-author sessions, workshops, performance art shows, and other educational activities.
ZONA has been based in Szczecin for two years now (it was earlier run in Lodz under the same name). It presents the works of Poland's leading artists, such as Leszek Knaflewski, Arti Grabowski, Artur Malewski, Agata Michowska, Leszek Golec + Tatiana Czekalska, Bogna Burska, Anna Orlikowska, Kuba Bąkowski, Hubert Czerepok, Bartlomiej Kokosinski and others.

“don't worry be happy”
The invited artists are involved with the Szczecin Academy of Art and collaborate with Zona Sztuki Aktualnej. In their works they present the projection of emotions involved with changes in the emotional state of being; passing from sadness or worry to joy and happiness, like in a distorting mirror.

Artists: Leszek Knaflewski, Agata Michowska, Aleksandra Ska, Łukasz Skąpski, Małgorzata Szymankiewicz, Waldemar Wojciechowski, Agata Zbylut

Curator: Kamil Kuskowski
