KNIPSU is an artist run gallery in Bergen, Norway with focus on artistic exchange through a local based platform and a mobile platform. KNIPSU aim to introduce international artists to the Bergen art scene, and to be active with a mobile program within the Nordic peripheries and the International art scene. Encounters has been made with; Galleria Huuto in Helsinki, Finland, Norsk-Finsk Kulturinstitutt in Oslo, Norway, the Kulturhuset Sermermiut in Ilulissat, Greenland. Building up lasting networks with sister organizations KNIPSU strive to establish artistic exchange beyond borders. KNIPSU´s hyper activities consists of exhibitions, events, concerts, workshops, seminars and publications. KNIPSU is run on a DIY approach by Maya Økland, Hilde Jørgensen and Kristin Tårnesvik with generous support from the Nordic Culture Point, the Municipality of Bergen, OCA, and the Norwegian Arts Council.

KNIPSU is a non-profit art space in Bergen, Norway, run by three artists since August 2010.

KNIPSU produces its own exhibitions but also collaborates with other artist groups and aims at showing a broad spectre of artistic expressions. The gallery also contributes to artistic events and productions on the move by producing seminars, exhibitions, workshops and screenings both in the Nordic and the Baltic areas.

Artistic exchange between the Nordic countries is a priority for the gallery, and we aim to create artistic collaborations between these countries, which can extend over time.
