Argument Vertoningsruimte

Tilburg, Netherlands

Argument is an artist-run-space  in Tilburg, in the south of the Netherlands. Tilburg is an average industrial town with a lot of bottom-up artistic initiatives. Argument is founded in 1993, based in a former school.
Argument works low-budget but with high-tech means, always experimental.

Its  purpose is to offer art – in all its aspects – a place. Artists get time and space to tackle the experiment and to work on site. Site specific work is the result. The starting point is the– mental and physical – space.
Argument wants to promote art, which exists by the grace of 'the argument art'.

A working period always ends with a presentation which usually lasts three weeks, but variations are possible. Related to the presentation the artist is asked to make an ‘item’ (kind of multiple, work in series), as a little monument and for retail.

Argument has invited Karin van Pinxteren to join the Supermarket Art Fair, based on her work and especially her performances. Her first performance took place at Argument, which she developed in the past years (see below text about Karin van Pinxteren, photographs 1, 2, 3).
