SUPERMARKET 2008 took place in Enskilda Galleriet a 1500 sqm (16000 sqft) space in central Stockholm.

SUPERMARKET is an international artist-run art fair in Stockholm. The art fair is a dynamic meeting place offering interesting discussions and experimental collaborations.
The project was initiated by a group of artists who wanted to explore the possibilities to run an independent art fair, as a vitalising alternative in Stockholm. The project originates from MINIMARKET, which was held at Konstnärshuset (The Artists' House), an old Art Deco palace in the centre of Stockholm, in February 2006.
SUPERMARKET 2007 once again took place at Konstnärshuset. The art fair was a great success, with more than 3000 visitors. 17 artist-run galleries from Glasgow, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, S:t Petersburg, Copenhagen, Trondheim and different parts of Sweden participated.
In ”the Lounge”, there were also well appreciated seminars, screenings, performances and presentations of another 20 artist-run organisations.
SUPERMARKET presents MEETINGS, a programme which allows participating artists and artists working as exhibition organisers, project managers and other art professionals to meet and discuss various issues surrounding their gallery and the wider art world.
